Food Security Bill: Food Bill passes with amendments

The Congress, despite vocal opposition outside the Parliament has managed to push its flagship Food Bill in Lok Sabha.
The Bill was passed after over 300 amendments proposed by the opposition were rejected by the house.
The passage of the Bill , which Congress hopes, will be a booster for the upcoming elections and is likely to provide cheap food grains to 82 crore people in the country.
