Ayodhya: Senior VHP leader Ashok Singhal today refused to leave Lucknow after the arrest on the airport by Uttar Pradesh Police in backdrop to stop the Vishwa Hindu Parishad's much controversial 84 Kosi Yatra in the state.

Setting the stage for a confrontation with the UP government, VHP today inaugurated its controversial yatra from Ayodhya amidst a massive crackdown launched by the administration which has arrested over 500 people including senior VHP leaders Pravin Togadia and Ashok Singhal.
