NIA officer shot dead by unidentified gunmen in Bijnore, Uttar Pradesh

An officer posted with the National Investigation Agency (NIA) was chased and shot dead by unidentified gunmen in Bijnore district of Western Uttar Pradesh. The officer's wife was also shot at and she is admitted in a critical condition at a hospital in Noida. The officer was posted as Deputy Superintendent of Police in NIA. He was on deputation from the Border Security Force (BSF). The NIA clarified that officer was not part of the probe regarding the Pathankot airbase terror attack. The attackers who were on a motorcycle chased and shot dead Tanzil and his wife, when they were returning from a wedding in Sahaspur district of Bijnore.
