JNU has turned into political warzone as the opposition made a beeline at the university campus today.

Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi accused the Centre of suppressing the voices of young students. It was interesting to see Congress, JDU and prominent left leaders sharing stage to unitedly attack the Centre.

Gandhi also drew comparisons with the Hyderabad university controversy involving students owing allegiance to ABVP and Ambedkar Student Association and the suicide of Dalit research scholar Rohit Vemula following his suspension from the university.

Delhi Congress chief Ajay Maken, CPI-M general secretary Sitaram Yechury, CPI national secretary D. Raja, CPI-ML leader Kavita Krishnan and other leaders were present on the occasion.
