Even as the five martyrs who succumbed in the LoC ambush are being laid to rest NewsX has learnt how and why the govt of India came to contradict itself on the LoC incursion.
Sources tell NewsX it was National Security Adviser Shiv Shankar Menon who reportedly made the decision to blame terrorists and not the Pakistani Army for the deadly incursion.
Sources say the National Security Adviser's motive in twisting the truth even after the murder of five Indian jawans was simple - to save India's fledgling diplomacy with Pakistan to soften the political impact of the attack by transferring the blame from the Pakistani itself to terrorists to move the blame from the state of Pakistan to non-state actors.
