NewsX: UP CM Akhilesh justifies IAS officer Durga Shakti Nagpal's suspension

Despite stinging criticism for suspending IAS officer Durga Shakti Nagpal, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav on Monday justified his government's action. Addressing Samajwadi Party workers in Lucknow, Akhilesh said that punishment is necessary if officials make a mistake. "I'm sure there are a lot of children here who were punished by their parents and teachers. All governments run the same way. If an official makes a mistake he or she will be punished," said the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister.
