NewsX: The Supreme Court in its judgement on acid attack cases today has directed state governments to pay Rs 3 lakh compensation to all acid attack victims.
The apex court has asked governments to pay 1 lakh, out of the 3 lakh rupees compensation, within a period of 15 days of the incident being reported to the police followed by the rest of the money which needs to be paid in 2 months time.
Its a major victory for those fighting for rights of acid attack victims. On his last day at work CJI Altamas Kabir has pronounced the most-awaited verdict to control the angst of jilted lovers out to destroy lives of innocent girls.
