Diesel hiked by 95 paise a litre

The retail price of diesel was hiked Rs.0.95 a litre in Delhi with corresponding increase in other states, effective midnight, state-run Indian Oil Corp announced on Thursday. Petrol prices have been left unchanged. "After the change, the price of diesel in Delhi will be Rs.45.90 a litre," IOC said making the fortnightly revision in fuel prices by oil marketing companies. "The current level of international prices and rupee-dollar exchange rate warrant a price increase, which is being passed on to consumers with this price revision," the statement added.
