Man squeezes through security at Delhi metro station, shoots himself

A 22-year-old man allegedly shot himself with a country-made gun at the Rajiv Chowk metro station on Thursday night. Shibesh Adhikari, who shot himself in the left shoulder, managed to survive, said the police. Adhikari passed through the security check at gate no. 3 of the metro station at about 9.30 pm, said the police. Shibesh Adhikari claimed he shot himself so as to alert security agencies and make them heighten the security. He claimed that the security guards did not screen his bag in which he kept the gun. His sister said, "The man said he did this for the country. He was not depressed. He wanted to help people."
