Lucknow: UP government presented two typewriters to 65-Year-Old Typist

Uttar Pradesh chief minister Akhilesh Yadav has ordered the suspension of sub-inspector Pradeep Kumar after images of the latter smashing an old man's typewriter in Lucknow went viral on social media. In these widely circulated images, the cop is seen kicking and smashing the typewriter that was the only source of income for 65-year-old Krishna Kumar in Lucknow. Reports said that the policeman smashed the typewriter because Kumar had failed to meet his alleged extortion demands. The 65-year-old went on to add that such police officers ruin the entire profession's reputation with such actions. Meanwhile, the government presented two typewriters (with English and Hindi typeface)to Krishna on Saturday.
