Telangana Issue : 3 leaders from Andhra Pradesh quit Congress Party
  • 5 years ago
NewsX: In a rude shock to the Congress in Andhra Pradesh, three pro-Telangana MPs from the party have announced their plans to quit and join the rival Telangana Rashtra Samiti. Keshav Rao and two Lok Sabha MPs M Jagannatham and Gaddam Vivekanand-are expected to formally join TRS at a rally in Hyderabad on June 2.
These MPs had earlier warned the Congress to decide on the issue of separate statehood for Telangana, failing which they warned they will quit the party. Keshav Rao was denied re-nomination to Rajya Sabha last year after he openly defied the High Command on Telangana issue.
Gaddam Vivekanand also comes from an illustrious Congress family. His father G Venkata Swamy was a CWC member. M Jagannatham came to Congress from TDP. He voted in favour of the UPA in 2008 despite a whip from his party the TDP.
Mr. T.R.Ramachandran is here with us in the studio to throw some more light on the situation out there.
