News X : Sashi kant Sharma to be New CAG

NewsX: The government has named Defence Secretary Shashi Kant Sharma as the new Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) of India. He will replace Vinod Rai whose term comes to an end on Thursday, May 23.
Mr Sharma's appointment to an office that has been much in the limelight recently came just days before he was to have retired. In the 40-odd years that he has been in the government, the official has not received any award or special recognition. Mr Sharma does, however, have the distinction of being described by many colleagues as "stable."
