In a major embarrassment for the Nitish Kumar government, Patna police today said ruling JD(U) MLA Anant Singh's name has cropped up in a kidnapping case of four persons, one of whom was later murdered, and the legislator's role would be investigated. Patna Senior Superintendent of Police Jitendra Rana told this to reporters before moving out to his new assignment as SSP of Motihari. Rana was transferred to Motihari in a minor reshuffle of police officers last night and his place in Patna has been taken by Vikash Vaibah.
