Protests outside IIT-Madras against ban on students' group

IIT Madras'decision to de-recognise a students group which was critical of the Narendra Modi government has become a full blown controversy. Members of Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) are protesting outside IIT Madras condemning the Human Resource and Development Ministry. The Radical Students' Youth Front and Thanthai Periyar group will also be staging protests in Chennai on Saturday. This comes a day after a war of words ensued between Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi and HRD Minister Smriti Irani.
