A liver retrieved from the body of a road accident victim in Lucknow was brought to Delhi within four hours to help give a fresh lease of life to a 53-year-old man suffering from end-stage liver disease yesterday.

In the capital, the Delhi Traffic Police provided a "green corridor" to enable the transportation of the live from the T3 terminal at Delhi Airport to the Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences at Vasant Kunj here, a distance of about 12 km, in a record 11 minutes.
