Moga bus horror: Punjab CM terms incident 'painful', victim's family accepts compensation

The family of a 13-year-old girl who died after being thrown off a bus in Moga district by her molesters accepted compensation offered by the Punjab government on Sunday, ending a protest that embarrassed the ruling Badal family and hogged national headlines.
Amid high drama, family members accepted the state government's offer of an ex gratia payment of Rs 20 lakh, another Rs 3.80 lakh to fund the education of the victim’s brother and Rs 5 lakh and a semi-government job for the mother, who was injured in the incident.
