Punjab Minister kicks up controversy, calls death of Moga molestation victim god's will

Punjab Education Minister and Shiromani Akali Dal leader Surjit Singh Rakhra kicked up a controversy by saying that the death of a 14-year-old girl in Moga who fought a group of molesters in a bus is god's will. The minor girl died after she and her mother were thrown off a moving bus for resisting molestation. Rakhra said, "The death of girl is god's will. We also travel everyday, we do not know what will happen." Meanwhile, the girl's family continue to resist attempts to cremate her. The family has also turned down the state government's offer of Rs 20 lakh as compensation and a job.
