German Bakery blast case: Himayat Baig to be sentenced today

The Bangalore blast came just 2 days after the German Bakery blast verdict. Today the Pune Court will pronounce the quantum of punishment to Himayat Baig, the lone arrested accused for terror attack. Himayat Baig was on Monday convicted by a sessions court for murder, criminal conspiracy and other charges. The judge fixed April 18 that is today for pronouncing the quantum of sentence for offences which are punishable with death. The sentencing will come more than three years after the powerful explosion rocked Pune's German Bakery, a popular eatery, killing 17 and wounding 64, in the first terror attack in Pune.
