Are schools now money-making enterprises?
Speak Out India is a NewsX special show which debates the main news event of the day. In a big relief to parents, Delhi High Court has ordered that schools can't charge more than a month's fee in advance. At present, all private schools charge three months advance fees. The court ruled this while hearing a case on the nursery admissions. It also warned that schools can't charge a capitation fee for nursery admissions. So the question we are asking is- Are greedy schools fleecing parents? Are schools now money-minting enterprises? Should fee structure be regulated by government? Should'nt fee structure be made transparent? We debate this on the show and try to evolve consensus among our panelists over the issue.
