Pancholi had visited the Sea Princess Hotel's pub late on Saturday. Police officials said that the actor took objection to English songs being played at the pub. He asked for Hindi numbers to be played.

This led to an altercation. "A bouncer was escorting him out of the pub when Pancholi hit him on the head with a mobile phone. He also roughed up four colleagues of the bouncer," said Padmakar Chavan, senior inspector, Santacruz police station.
