DMK threatens to quit UPA

The UPA Government is fast being pushed to a piquant situation with DMK threatening to withdraw support to it over the Sri Lanka war crime row. DMK president Karunanidhi minced no words today while throwing the 'quit threat', saying that DMK will not hesitate to quit if two of its demands are not included in the US sponsored resolution. Karunanidhi wants Lanka declared as perpetrator genocide on Eelam Tamils and establishment of a credible independent probe against war crimes by Lanka. DMK's threat comes even as the Congress led UPA has hinted at a possible vote against Sri Lanka at United Nations Human Rights Council later in March.
