Fishermen killing: Italy blames India for violating UN convention

Italian Foreign Ministry has now blamed India for violating international law in launching a trial of Italian sharpshooters who killed two Indian fishermen in the Arabian Sea on Feb 15, 2012. Rome said India has violated the UN Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS) and the principle of immunity for its Marines from being subjected to the jurisdiction of any foreign state.
