Explosion near college in Roorkee, one killed

An explosion took place near DAV college in Roorkee, Uttarakhand, killing a child, reports said on Saturday.Reports say that Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Sangeet Som was taking part in a political event being organised near the college.Chief Minister Harish Rawat appealed to maintain calm and allow police to carry out the investigation.It is being said that the blast took place at a garbage dump.
