Supreme Court stays execution of Veerappan aides

There's temporary relief for the four Veerappan aides whose mercy petition was rejected by the President on February 13th. The Supreme Court has stayed their execution order till Wednesday. The four were sentenced to death penalty in the 1993 landmine blast case in Karnataka that killed 22 policemen and forest officials. Veerappan's aides moved the apex court requesting their death sentence be commuted to life imprisonment.
