EC informs SC on new EVMs

The Election Commission has informed the Supreme Court that they are conducting the trials of the new EVM system in which a voter shall get an acknowledgement of his vote. The Election Commission also informed the Supreme Court that the new system will be tested in the upcoming state elections subject to the clearance of the technical committee. Next date is 9th April. Subramanium Swamy had filed a petition in the SC alleging that the existing EVM are vulnerable to rigging and there should be a change in the existing system.
