Seat sharing row: BJP’s Om Mathur to meet Uddhav Thackeray today
  • 5 years ago
To save the 25-year-old alliance between Shiv Sena and BJP from breaking because of the seat-sharing row between the two, today the BJP poll in-charge of the state Om Mathur will hold a meeting with the Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray.

This meeting is the result of the talks between BJP and Shiv Sena yesterday where the latter refused to give not more than 119 seats whereas the former rejected the same.

As of now, both the parties have announced the names of the candidates for the upcoming Assembly Polls in Maharashtra; however they are yet to announce the list as the decision on the same is yet to be taken because of the ongoing tiff which may also result in the alliance coming to an end.

After the marathon meeting of the party's Central Election Committee, BJP in-charge for Maharashtra Rajiv Pratap Rudy said, "It was decided that efforts should be made to ensure that there is a respectable and mature understanding on seat-sharing and the alliance is kept intact. BJP wants to go to the polls along with Sena and other alliance partners."
