Govt to review deduction of PF subscription from gross salary - NewsX

Looks like employees can now breath easy over the EPF circular linking Salary and allowances for collection of Provident Fund contributions. Reports are in that the Government is reviewing the circular issued by Employee Provident Fund Organinsation asking employers to deduct the subscription from the gross salary including allowances. The move to deduct subscription from the gross salary was strongly objected to as it would have reduced the take-home salary of over 5 Crore workers.
