A businessman was abducted and killed by four of his business partners for a ransom of Rs 3 crore. The man's body has been recovered from a canal in Rohtak and four people have been apprehended.

A source said the suspects, who were nabbed early on Sunday, have been identified as Pradeep, Suresh Malik, Inder and Arora. The number of suspects may go up after the interrogation, an officer said.

The victim, Dinesh Aggarwal, owned a share-trading firm in Jyoti Nagar. Aggarwal was abducted from a temple near his house on Wednesday evening. Around 8pm, his family received a call demanding Rs 3 crore by Thursday morning.

On Thursday, when the kidnappers called, Aggarwal's son told them that he could only manage Rs 1.5 crore and promised to pay the remaining amount in a few days. The kidnappers, however, threatened Aggarwal's son and disconnected the call, police said.
By this time, police traced the calls to a place near Rohtak. Aggarwal's body was found in a field near the canal.
