Sachin, Rekha criticised for poor attendance in Parliament

Senior Congress leader Rajeev Shukla questioned the point behind Tendulkar's nomination to the Upper House saying if he was not going to attend it.

According to records, Tendulkar has only 3 per cent attendance last year, having attended Parliament only three times. He has not attended a single session of Rajya Sabha this year.

Another high-profile MP and film star Rekha has also not attended a single session of Parliament his year.

Samajwadi Party MP Naresh Agarwal hit out at MPs for being absent from the House. He said, "These MPs were selected so that they can be present and make difference in the society. But I have never seen him in the House."

Tendulkar has been criticised for being present at various other events during the Parliamentary session.

Tendulkar was present at Wimbledon, Pro Kabaddi inaugural match over the last two months and this has come under serious criticism from many MPs.
