Devotees offer prayers as Chhath Puja ends - NewsX

It's the last day of the Chhath Puja today, this is the day when devotees thank Sun god. People across North India are celebrating the festival. With thousands assembling at various river banks for early morning prayers, the Ganga wore a vedic ambience as devotees dressed in traditional attire offered prayers to the sun god. In Delhi too devotees chanted folk songs and lit earthen lamps on the banks of the Yamuna. Devotees offered sugarcane, fruits and coconuts to the god. Chhath puja is reputed to be the only true Vedic tradition that's alive till date.
