Lakhs of Sena supporters looked on as the mortal remains of Shiv Sena Chief Balasaheb Thackeray were consigned to the flames at the Shivaji Park today. Amid the chanting of Sanskrit Shlokas the entire Thackeray clan stood by Balasaheb's son Uddhav Thackeray who lit the funeral pyre. Cousin Raj Thackeray broke down as the flames consumed his uncle's mortal body. As part of the state honors for Balasaheb,,,. a gun salute was given along with the final march. The final preparations were made on the funeral pyre after this. Chants of Amar Rahe and Jab Tak Suraj Chaand Rahega echoed from all corners of the ground as the crowds surged forward for a last glimpse of the cremation.
