Subjugation of justice against rapists continues. A minor dalit girl from Deoria, Uttar Pradesh was raped and then the village panchayat looked to settle the issue by asking the rapist to pay the girl Rs.30,000 as compensation. The hapless girl was also asked to put her thumb impression on the agreement while no other action was initiated against the rapist.
