Tension continues to linger at the Aligarh Muslim University campus after students clashed with the police on Wednesday. After the 195th birth anniversary celebrations of Sir Syed Ahmad Khan, the university's founder, the students were leaving, when a group of students restored to teasing the girls passing by. When the police and the Rapid Action personnel, who were posted on duty there objected to it, the students responded by pelting stones at them. This led to the police resorting to lathicharge to disperse the unruly students. However, the university administration is tight lipped about the episode.
