In a growing list of Indian celebrities looking to trademark their names, that is -- use their names as valuable property -- there's a new kid on the block. Actor Shahrukh Khan has applied for trade marking of the brand SRK. NewsX correspondent Sumit Nagpal analyses what is now turning out to be a trend in India too on the lines of celebrities worldwide. Documents available exclusively to NewsX show Shahrukh as having applied for a trademark for the brand SRK under as many as 35 classes - pharma companies, chemicals et al. But will it be as easy for SRK to have his way? Trade-marking something as universal as the alphabets SRK is sure to run into huge opposition.
