Ajmal Kasab's legal options after SC verdict - NewsX

The Supreme Court has confirmed Kasab's death sentence now the special court will be sent the copy of the order for execution. The copy of the Supreme Court shall be sent to the Special Court which found him guilty initially. The Special Court shall pass an execution order and the execution order shall be sent to the Jailer of the Arthur Road jail. The date and time of the execution shall be fixed by the Jailer and he will comply with the orders. Given the kind of legal options available to death convicts, it is highly unlikely that Kasab will be executed in the near future. His predecessors like Afzal Guru and Bhullar have not been executed ever after years have passed since their death penalty was confirmed by the apex court.
