Maharashtra Cabinet expansion: Two Congress leaders join

In less than a week's time, Maharashtra Government has again inducted two new ministers in the Government. Sitting Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) from Latur, Amit Deshmukh has been made Minister of State while MLA Abdul Sattar from Sillod (near Aurangabad), has been incorporated as Cabinet Minister.

Today morning, Governor of Maharashtra, K Sankaranarayanan administered the oath of office to Deshmukh and Sattar at Raj Bhavan.

First time minister Amit Deshmukh is the elder son of late Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Vilasrao Deshmukh. Party strongman Sattar, is a seasoned politician and two times MLA. He was Minister of State in the Ashok Chavan Government and a close ally of Chavan.
