No threat to Northeast people in India, claims Centre - NewsX

As over 5,000 panic-stricken people from the north east fled Bangalore after reports of attacks on some of them, the Centre today said there was no threat to anyone from the region living anywhere in the country and warned of strict action against rumour mongers. "If rumours are spread, strict action will be taken against those who indulge in such activities," Home Minister Sushil kumar Shinde told reporters outside Parliament House.
