40 charred to death as Tamil Nadu express catches fire - NewsX

More than 40 people are now feared killed and dozens are injured killed after when the Delhi-Chennai Tamil Nadu Express caught fire near Nellore in the wee hours of morning today. Reports say 26 passengers were rescued from the coach.. that was completely gutted. The coach had around 70 seats. Fire fighting personnel have now put out the fire and rescue workers were using gas cutters and other equipment to retrieve the bodies. 12 bodies have been recovered so far. Railways minister Mukul Roy will be visiting Nellore this evening. He has ordered a probe. Indian Railways has announced a compensation of 5 lakh rupees for the killed. And 1 lakh to the seriously injured.
