The family of a Subedar Major, who died under mysterious circumstances at a military hospital in Delhi, has accused senior Army officers of torturing the man to death. Subedar Major Rajendra Singh Shekhawat suffered a paralytic attack on the 3rd of July and died two days later during treatment. Shekhawat's family claims the Subedar Major wanted to expose some senior officers in an alleged corruption case. Shekhawat's family further claim that he retired in March but was allegedly tortured at the instructions of a top Army officer for the last 10 months. The Subedar Major's family is demanding an independent inquiry into the cause of his death.
