2G scam: A Raja moves Delhi HC, seeks to drop charges - NewsX

Former telecom minister A Raja has approached the Delhi High Court, seeking quashing of the charges framed against him by a special CBI court. In his plea, Raja has sought quashing of the charges under the Indian Penal Code and the Prevention of Corruption Act framed against him by the trial court in October 2011. Raja is a key accused in the case pertaining to the grant of Unified Access Service (UAS) Licences and 2G spectrum by the Department of Telecommunications in 2008 during his tenure as the telecom minister. The allegations against him pertain to non-revision of entry fee and non-auction of spectrum, fixation of the cut-off date for allocation of the licences, alleged violation of 'first come first serve policy' and receipt of unaccounted money by Kalaignar TV Pvt Ltd.
