Sugar mills not for sale in UP from now on: Yadav - NewsX

Following an hour-long debate in UP assembly on irregularities in the sale of sugar mills, the Uttar Pradesh government on Saturday said no sugar mills would now be sold in the state. Announcing this on the floor of the house, senior Samajwadi Party leader and PWD Minister Shivpal Yadav said the state government would conduct a high-level inquiry into the anomalous sale of 21 government sugar mills during the BSP, allegedly leading to a loss of Rs 1,200 crore to the state exchequer. The state government also said it would formulate a new policy to ensure better realisation to farmers.
