Mahesh Bhupathi's father GK Bhupati said, that Rohan Bopanna would be the best doubles choice for his son Mahesh Bhupathi. This was related to the whole fiasco of pairing Paes and Bhupathi together for London, on which Bhupathi had threatened to skip London if separated from his regular partner Rohan Bopanna, who incidentally was Paes' preferred choice for the Games.
