DMK leaders Veerapandi Arumugan and Periyasamy arrested - NewsX

Former Tamil Nadu Minister and DMK leader Veerapandi Arumugam has been arrested by the Tamil Nadu police. He was arrested on charges of rioting, threatening and inciting violence in Salem. He will be brought before the Salem Magistrate court along with his son. Meanwhile, there are reports that Former Revenue Minister I Periasamy has also been arrested for allegedly running an illegal quarry. The Vigilance and Anti-Corruption wing police had earlier raided the house of the former Minister as well as that of his son's and daughter's house. Raids were also carried out in the mills owned by his relatives in various parts of the district around two weeks ago.
