24 hours after the abduction of Sukma District collector Alex Menon, the Naxals have come out with a list of demands, putting an ultimatum, before the Raman Singh government. The Naxals have demanded the release of 8 comrades in jails, along with a stop to operation green hunt in the state. The Ch'garh government has 3 days to respond to the ultimatum. Alex Menon, was popular in Sukna for his development agenda. Infact locals observed a total bandh in protest of his abduction on Sunday. Heightened attacks have even scared away NGO's such as Internamional Red Cross, and Medicine Sans Frontieres.
