India News : sheila dixit government to soften the onion hoaring prices, attempts are made to sell off the onions at 55 per kg. Earlier the market price of onion skyrocketed to 70 to 80 per kg,The jump has been attributed to a sharp dip in supply of onions from the southern states due to heavy rains, which is usually buffered by imports - that have been delayed.
