World observes Good Friday -NewsX

Christians across India observe the occasion of Good Friday today. It is a day when churches hold special services and help the devout recall the whole episode of the crucifixion. It is a religious holiday observed traditionally to remember the crucifixion and death of Jesus Christ. Though the day has religious importance, it is not considered as a day of celebration. Rather, it is a day for Christians to mourn the Christ's death. It is a national bank and government holiday. Good Friday is also popularly known as Holy Friday which is observed during Holy Week on the Friday just three days before Easter Sunday.
