Speak out India: 53 women sterilized in Bihar in 2 hours - NewsX

In Bihar's Araria district, a doctor did 53 sterilization operations in a span of 2 hours. The operating theatre was a local school, the medicines expired and the surgeries were carried out in the dark, under torchlight. The result was the women were left bleeding profusely, often developing complications after the botched up surgeries. In Gwalior, a man was offered food laced with sedatives before he was forcibly sterilized. The incident took place just days before he was to get married. When he regained consciousness, the victim found himself at the Gwalior Civil Hospital raising suspicions that the hospital employees might be hand in glove with the racket. What are worse are reports of incentivized sterilization coming to surface where men are lured with televisions and mobile phones to undergo sterilizations.
