India News: Asaram taken to Jodhpur after late night arrest

Indore: Self-styled godman Asaram Bapu was on Sunday flown to Jodhpur by police, hours after his arrest from his ashram here for allegedly sexually assaulting a 16-year-old girl.
The Air India flight AI-635 carrying asaram left at 7.50 a.m. and will land at New Delhi from where he will board another flight for Jodhpur, sources said.
Asaram was arrested after lengthy questioning at his ashram in Indore, sources said.
The girl had lodged a complaint at a police station in Delhi August 20, accusing 72-year-old Asaram of sexually assaulting her at his ashram in Jodhpur. Asaram has denied the charge, with his son saying that the girl was "mentally unstable".
