Maoists hold 2 Italian tourists as hostage in Odisha- NewsX

Two Italian tourists have been taken hostage by Maoists in the Kandhamal district of Odisha. Sources say both were reportedly taking pictures of local women bathing on the riverside. The Maoists have said that the release of the tourists depends on the government's response to their demands, most of them are long-standing ones including the release of political prisoners and a halt to Operation Greenhunt. This is the first time the Maoists have taken foreign tourists hostage.
