India News : Asaram Bapu receives summons, denies sexual assault charges

India News : NEW DELHI: Self-styled godman Asaram Bapu has refuted all charges levelled against him in the sexual assault case.
The two-member team, which reached his ashram on Khandwa road on the outskirts of the city at 8am, served the summons to Asaram at around 2 pm after being told by ashram functionaries that he was meditating and cannot be disturbed.
"We have served the notice to Asaram around 2pm for appearing before the police in the matter," sub-inspector (SI) Bhanwar Singh told reporters outside the ashram.
Asaram has assured to cooperate with the police in the matter, he said.
Jodhpur police has directed Asaram to appear before it for questioning within four days of receiving the notice.
